AWESOME! Now I won't have to drive to Dayton to enjoy a lan party.

Although I will if it means hanging out with me good old friends!

Miami Hamilton, we can always go drive through "the knob" if we get bored.   Grin  and its convienently located near White Castles!  "SOGA.... its not just a gaming event, Its a Cultural Experience!!!"

While Miami was very nice... It was also quite pricey. We are kind of hoping to get a 2.5 day event, without having to charge $25+ dollars... we want to try to find something for 30 people and be like $10-15 or maybe $20 if food is provided. While the idea of entertaining a lan for cash prizes was something we looked into with CAGE... We are starting to realize that its more about just having fun. and $35 is a little steep for anyone, even with cash prizes (and tbh, how many people actually go to just compete?).

so if you are doing some research... go on this. CAGE was ran from saturday morning to sunday evening. The cost of the venue was $300 per room, per day... so $1200 for the venue for the 2 rooms for 2 days. Kinda pricey, but it had everything. Try and base judgements on that...

oh BTW, I now have the longest post on the forums. Eat that fuckers!

OK maybe Im just spoiled after paying 40 dollars for some other local lans, to get Drinks Food and 2.5 days out of 25 bucks seems like one hell of a deal.  But I agree Im all for cheaper if you can swing it.  When I did Thunderfest at the Miami Multipurpose rooms at Shriver center, they would waive the cost of the room if we ordered more than the venue cost in catering.  Now as far as this venue goes, with all 3 rooms there was only enough amps for about 60 gamers, you would need to build a power board and draw more from somewhere else, and I doubt they would do an overnight event.  But at the time I was able to to one day events w/ lots of pizza and drinks for 10 bucks a head, and still have enough money to re-invest in equipment.

As a note.

I have enough extension cables and power strips available to be borrowed for approx 60 gamer lan.
